A long time ago people from Tržič area cooked stew from sheep meat. Garlic, onions, potatoes, spices and sheep's meat are the simple ingredients for it. Homemade delicious dish with its appearance, smell and taste can be referred to a beef rather than to a sheep's stew.
Festival of Tržič stew is a cooking experience. People can apply for the competition in the cooking of traditional stew or in Slovene Tržiška bržola. The cooking part will start at 9.30am and will be finished at 2 pm with the tasting of it and announcement of the winner. In between, there is going to be a music band playing traditional folk music.
