Sladka Istra (Sweet Istra) is the largest International Festival of Desserts in Slovenia. Is an excellent opportunity to learn about Istrian culinary and desserts, such as hamsters, fritters, and soups, which are made according to the recipes of our mothers and grandmothers. It brings the opportunity to taste traditional Slovenian desserts and other modern sweet masterpieces whose authors are top domestic and foreign confectionery artists.
On the "sweet paths" in Koper ( the event of bad weather in the tent office at Ukmar Square and in Taverna), visitors are led by the tenderers, thus presenting and selling sweet products, as well as sweet wines, beers and other sweet beverages , honey products and sweet products of Slovenian farms, and everything else that is connected with the sweet world. Visitors of sweet treats may try in exchange for tasting coupons, and they can also opt for the purchase of large quantities of sweet products for the home.
In addition to the diverse offer at outlets, Sladka Istra also offers a rich accompanying program with pastry shops and cooking shows, professional guides and lectures, and a rich cultural program and numerous accompanying activities.
The most important part of the festival is the three sweet competitions: the most original sweet of Istria, the Muscat of Sweet Istria and the Best of Cake of Sweet Istria.
